Morgane, a participant with cancer history

Morgane, in remission from cancer and a participant in the digital health study Colive Voice, explains her motivation for participating in our medical research on vocal biomarkers.

Can you introduce yourself in a few words?

My name is Morgane, I am 44 years old and I am French. I was diagnosed with hormone-dependent breast cancer in 2015. I was in the middle of planning a baby. So, it turned my life upside down. I was followed at the Léon Bérard hospital in Lyon by a wonderful team who really supported me in the good times and the bad ones. I had chemotherapy, surgery and hormone therapy. Today, I am in complete remission and I am the mother of two little girls, Emma and Axelle, who are 3 years old.

Tell us about your motivation for participating in the Colive Voice project?

My motivation for participating in all these studies, because it’s not the only study I’m participating in, I’m also doing races to fight breast cancer. I wanted to remember what happened to me because it made me so much stronger. It’s also to show my support to people who are ill, to their relatives. It is also very difficult for them. I think that this can help research, that it can lead to earlier detection, improve treatments, which are not easy to bear, but also to do health prevention. Everyone can be confronted with cancer, we are not prepared for that. It is only together, finally by participating in all these studies that we can improve things… and perhaps one day it will no longer exist.

How was your participation in the study?

After my breast cancer, I registered on Seintinelles to take part in studies and so it was quite natural that I took part in Colive Voice. The questionnaire was very easy, the questions were clear, it took me about 30 minutes to answer. The voice recordings are also quite simple. I strongly encourage you to participate!
